Seems Obvious

I wish I could make my kids watch this till they really believe it. How many times do they ask me for something they don't need... but really WANT? "I'll pay you back" just doesn't work for me. "Save up for it, and I will bring you back here when you have the money in your hand." Am I the only Mother on the planet that thinks this way?

LOVE it! Except I haven't had $ for quite awhile .... I miss buying stuff.
Is it just me or does anyone else think that Steve Martin is SEXAY?

Living out here i see the kids just expect their parents to buy. I really wonder how this will effect them when they are out there on their own and have to support themselves.

Gusit,
Great video!! And very interesting, as I recall this was a concept that you & I always had an understanding of. Unfortunatly the rest of the folks around us, family included (maybe especially) thought that if they saw it, they had to have it!!
Love you, Mom
PS Good Luck, with this one.

Hahaha...I loved that video clip. I don't know why it's such a novel concept to only spend money you have, but then again, I guess I could be called a hypocrite, seeing how every penny we spend right now is money we don't have (student loans).

However, even with that, Henry and I were pretty surprised to find out that we were below the loan average for his class during the first year, even though most of those students are single, and residents. Why would they need more money than two of us do? Hmmm, maybe because it's easy to think that because the money is available you should take it all, instead of spending as little as you possibly can. I hate debt.
