Longing for red sand & warm water

Well we've been home from Lake Powell for four days now and all I can think is "I wish I were still there"! It was a fabulous vacation. All of the my vacation requirements were filled: No cell phone (it's a love/hate relationship really), no TV or movies, plenty of water to play in, excellent food, good friends to talk to, no fancy clothes or makeup required (in fact if you want to stay in the same swimsuit the whole time- it's perfectly acceptable), new challenges to face and try to conquer (slalom skiing- well okay I didn't conquer but I sure had fun trying), beautiful star filled skys, gorgeous sunsets, having all day to hang out with my kiddos and play with them, plenty of time to talk with Anthony, being outdoors, lots of things to do. OK so it's a long list. But it really boils down to this at Lake Powell there are few HAVE TO's that rule the world, and suddenly you have time for all the WANT TO's. Eat when your hungry, sleep when your tired, play when you want, stare off and ponder life if you have the desire, interact with your family as much as you want without all the daily distractions. That is my perfect vacation. I should also tell you that the other families that shared our blissful week are fantastic people that I adore. Thanks for including us.

Look out Lake Powell

Pioneer Trek was awesome! I'd share a photo but I was forbidden to take my camera. Something about it not fitting into my 5 gallon bucket along with my other essential items? I would share my favorite parts but it's kind of like talking about a movie that some of your friends havn't seen and blowing the whole ending for them. So lets just say that if any of you have the chance to go, that I highly recomend it! Now after a LONG shower and a few hours at home (and a few loads of laundry) we are off to Lake Powell with 3 other families to share a houseboat and spend some serious time playing! I will definately be bringing my camera so expect a post sometime after the 24th. Hope you are enjoying the last week of summer!

New Driving Hazard

Well yes it's official Kali now has her driving permit! (Gasp) I know, I know, I don't feel old enough to have a daughter her age but she definately is my daughter through and through. She got home from Europe on July 28th and on the 29th she wanted to go in and get her permit. She is doing quite well with her driving. She even helped me drive to Oregon last week ( and I'm still here to write about it). Tomorrow we leave for Pioneer Trek... Anthony & I are privledged to be going as Ma & Pa. We will learn first hand to appreciate what the pioneers sacrificed to settled Utah. I'm sure I will tell you more about it later. See you in a few days after I've walked and walked and walked and walked and walked...... :-}

Greetings from Oregon

Well as you can tell, Kali is back from Germany and we are at our family reunion. This is my favorite place in the world.... the BEACH! I have been neglecting this blog because I have been having way to much fun. Maybe I will catch it up, maybe I won't? Till next time.
