Timpanogos Cave

The Broadheads Kira & Kyle

Max, Pauline & Valentine (the Germans)
The Darlings plus Tori
The Corbridges plus Valentine The Woodhouses plus Max

Well to be perfectly honest the first time I did this hike I thought it was going to kill me. That was 14 years ago and I had a very stubborn 13 month old who thought she could walk by herself the whole way. It takes the average group about 2 hrs. I think we finally arrived after 2 1/2 hrs. (maybe 3?) So when this event was organized I was very reluctant and not very excited about it. However I have to say it was SOOOOO much better this time. We left very early so we could go on the first tour through the cave. And avoid the blaring afternoon sun. We had a large group and stopped several times to take pictures and yet still made it to the top in about 1 1/2 hours. What a fabulous day. Timpanogos- I fear you no more! (BTW- we did this July 10th... it's just taken me a while to blog it)

Girls Camp '08

Camp was great this year! Now begins the difficult part of selecting the best story telling images to use for the slideshow. Here are a few that I enjoyed and thought you might like also.

Gaggle of geese at no extra charge...

I was at Wheeler Farm a few weeks ago photographing this cute family. They had brought some bread and were feeding the geese during a break. When I grouped them back together to get some more shots, the geese marched right out of the water and completely swarmed them begging for more bread. It was crazy, luckily the kids were great sports, and didn't get scared or seem bothered by it. I have to admit I was a bit nervous and quite glad I was shooting from a safe distance away. Man I love my job, it's never the same thing twice.

Happy 4th Happenings

Have any of you ever experienced a "candy cannon"? An explosion sends candy hurling through the air toward eagerly awaiting kids that scurry to and fro collecting as much candy as possible. Kind of like a pinata but with lots more candy and everyone hears when it "breaks". This has become a tradition my kids enjoy every Fourth of July. We watch the flag raising, with lots of patriotic songs then the kids line up anticipating that magical moment when candy falls from the sky like rain. Here are a few shots of that and some other pictures I took to showcase our Red, White and Blue. Tell me which picture is your favorite? In 1 week I will tell you mine. You can click on each photo to make it bigger. Hope You had a great fourth!

A face I will miss

It's summertime and around my house that means frequent visitors. A friend of mine and her 5 children came and stayed with us for a few weeks already this summer. Her youngest was just 1 month old and man did it bring me back in time. The sounds, the smells, the first grin, baths and diapers. So because I was thinking of them tonight I thought I would share a few shots I captured while they were here. I love you guys.

Happy Birthday Kyle

Welcome to July. Today is Kyle's 12th birthday! As I was searching for the perfect photo to post to celebrate this occasion I realized that if I was extremely selective I might be able to narrow it down to about 25-30 favorites. And when it comes to pictures of my children less is NOT more. So of course I decided it was time for a slideshow to give you more photos of Kyle than anyone but his mother would want to watch, recapping his last year. Reason tried to speak to me and remind me that I didn't do this last month for Kali and that it's not fair. I quickly silenced that voice when I thought about Kali traveling Europe this summer. OF COURSE LIFE'S NOT FAIR, who am I kidding? Please post a comment if you make it all the way through the slideshow, I'm just trying to guage intrest.
